Within this role you will be reporting to the Chief Estimator, your main responsibility will be to manage the pricing of tenders for highway maintenance and construction work and develop winning tender proposals in accordance with estimating procedures.

You will need to ensure implementation of company bidding procedures on all bids and lead the tender estimating team to make sure all dead lines are met, and tenders are priced competitively.

There will be the opportunity for you to manage a team of estimators to ensure the accurate pricing of schedules of rates and bills of quantities.

You will analyse and interpret methods of measurement to establish item coverage.

You will need to develop bid strategies together with the business development, commercial and quality submissions teams.

It is essential for you to have good IT skills in Word and Excel, excellent communication skills and knowledge of construction working methods.

You will need to have knowledge of contracts as well as, methods of measurement, adjudication process and the bid process.
